hello loves, this is your admin here, scarlett. first off i would like to apologize for how slow we are starting off here at TTR. my personal life has been a bit disruptive and school has acquired a lot of my time. i am working on writing out the official Time Shift schedule by tonight and then will be posted in this board for all to see. note, the first post is nearly finished being written up an will explain the basic happenings of the plot start for you all. i would recommended that you try and get your character's applications out by this weekend, since that will be the official Start Date for roleplay.
another thing i would like to bring to your attention is the need for advertisement. everyone knows that the number of members doesn't have to be extravagant to make the roleplay fun, but new blood is always a good idea and enriches the game. plus, we have a desperate need for someone to take up Gwen Cooper and Rhys Williams, since they are vital to the story. until then they will be put to the side, but i encourage people to play them. if you have already taken up a main canon, then please leave the others for other members to play. for instance, i am already playing John, so it would be unfair of me to snatch up Gwen too. plus it really isn't fun for the game.
but as i said, advertising is key. i'm asking everyone to try and spread the word about our board. though make sure we haven't already advertised there. to finish off, thank you all for being a part of our site! i'm delighted to have you all and i can't wait to get in the game with everyone.

this weekend i had to close down TTR for a little while, but we are up and running again. i had to think for a while whether to just get rid of time shifts completely or to extend the time, and instead we have decided to make the time shifts two weeks long instead of just one. i would like to remind everyone that being active is a great thing and that doesn't just mean posting in threads. stopping by the cbox once and a while and chatting with other members makes the sites look more active to guests (since they can't see the actual roleplay boards) and will encourage more people to join. the more the merrier, right?
plus we also have a place where you can write your character a journal. this is a great way to get your post counts up and to further expand on your character. you can also roleplay the past times or threads where the time shift has passed. you will gain posts counts here too and more roleplay. great right? i am reminding you of this since most of us (even the admins) are not reaching the 'once per time shift' posting minimum. so post in a plot tree or two, write a journal entry, or even just stop by a couple ooc threads. we want to keep this site alive, loves. that means everyone has to keep active.

Andy and I have tried doing Character of the Month Awards in December, then had to skip it for January because not enough people had posted. This is not an announcement to get on your back about posting, though we would hope that everyone could try to post more often. Instead we have an idea which makes much more sense than have Top Poster, Top Male, Top Female and Top Couple.
Since there are not many character's in game, and most either are played by Andy or I, we figure we should change it a bit to keep it fair until more people start getting characters in game. So now there will just be a Character of the Month. Also, since most people did not send in their nominations or votes for Decembers 2009's Awards, Andy and I will just pick the winner. It will be based on what they have posted, whether or not the member has won before, and whatnot. If you have any questions or comments about this, you know we would love to hear them from you. <3

As we have mentioned before, a lot of the people on this site are not posting as much as they should. The rules state that you should post your characters at least once every two weeks, in a thread or a journal. We have been really lax with this rule, but we are going to have to start being a tad more strict. We are going to ask that you post your accepted characters at least once in this next week. It can be a journal post, a thread with someone else or just a single post in the game by themselves. We are extending this time shift for another week so you will all have a chance to post. If you do not post, we will send you an email and a private message so you can tell us why you did not or to decide what to do next. You have all been very good about the activity checks, but hardly any posting. If we want to get the game going, we need everyone involved.
We understand that it may seem difficult to start a thread with someone or to get a plot going, but we are here to help. If you need to find a way for your character to get more in the game, try talking to Andy and I or one of the other members. We should all be open to suggestions and ideas. There is nothing more exciting and cool to get than to get a random idea for a plot with another person's character. Try posting a 'anyone want to have a thread with my character ___' message in the cbox. Chances are that someone will answer, or that someone else might be unsure where to post also. Don't be shy guys.
The 24rd of February will be the next time shift. You must post before then in a journal, a thread with someone else, or a 'stand-alone' (a thread with only your character posting) thread. <33 Scarlett & Andy

hello old members and new ones, it's scarlett here. this site had been shut down for a good while after andy and i decided it wasn't really going anywhere. we loved the place, but it didn't seem that anyone else did, so we left it alone. for a while i've been checking up on the place periodically, and there have been a lot of people suddenly asking if and when we'd be reopening. after some thought, and you guys letting us know you were interested, i've decided to reboot the place. some changes will be made though.
first of all, i don't plan on advertising the site anymore. i tried very hard last time to get our name out there and to no avail. in fact, i've seen smaller sites, with less members, do much better than the larger ones, so i -- at least, but you can if you wish to -- won't be posting our ad anywhere. whoever shows up wanting to join can join, and that's it. i won't be searching. i'll ask people i already know if they wish to join, but that's it. so don't expect to many people to be flooding in.
secondly, there will be no more time shifts. the more i look at it, the more unneeded they seem. the shifts would work for a larger site, but i think, on a place as small as this, the classic style will be fine. we just need to keep track of all the major plots, and the smaller threads on their own. it won't be too difficult.
thirdly, this time around, activity will be a must. with less members on the site, that means we will have to post at least one every two weeks. if you can't find a thread with someone -- which i doubt -- then send a message to this account and i will most certainly help you out.
lastly, i will post a thread where i will have a list of who is joining the site now. anyone who had characters before -- meaning their application was already posted on the site -- must tell me which they are keeping on the site. even if you only had one, tell me their names. this will help me create a sort of directory, where you guys can see who plays who and what that character does at torchwood (if not a part of the team, what they do otherwise). this will help limit confusion. you can find this thread here.
so that's it. now, we still need a Gwen Cooper, since she's a vital character, so if anyone wants to step up to the plate, that'd be great. until then, we are having her be a Non Playable Character, meaning we'll say she's on maternity leave with her kid.
any questions can be emailed to me at ohyeszombiegirl@yahoo.com
